Rhonda Arnott Found Her Calling on the Holy Ground of Athens

When a group trip to Greece appeared in front of me, I knew instantly I needed to go. I had no idea why. I just knew deep down in my soul that something transformative was going to happen. So I booked it without even asking my husband. I trusted the pull completely.
From the very first moment, magic unfolded. I had booked economy class, but I was bumped up to first class. That upgrade felt like a sign that something special was waiting for me. And then I landed in Athens.
Walking on Holy Ground

Athens is where I felt the most connected to something deeper, something spiritual. I don't know if you want to call it an awakening, because I was already awake. But I was more in tune. I was hearing things that were coming to me. Standing in this one area of Athens, where archaeologists had uncovered a city underneath the ground, I heard the words: you are walking on holy ground. I could look down and see how people before us had lived, layer upon layer of human life beneath my feet. That feeling, that draw, stayed with me everywhere I went in the city.
When I looked at the Acropolis, my heart was bursting. Knowing that people before me had built such a beautiful, multigenerational, centuries-old building. It was just incredible. No matter where I walked in Athens, I felt it. That sense of history, that energy, that electric connection to something far bigger than myself.
The Morning Ritual I'll Never Forget

What surprised me most was falling in love with the food. The drinks. Greek food became something I genuinely craved. But the thing that really stood out was this local pastry shop just down the street from where we were staying. Every morning, we went there. Turkish coffee. Regular coffee. Baklava. Sweets. I'm a sweet person, and no matter where I travel, I need to know where the coffee shop is and where the sweet shop is. That morning ritual became something I carry with me still.
I also went on a cruise that took me to Santorini, Mykonos, and Rhodes. Those islands were electric. But nothing compared to Athens. Athens is where the magic happened.
The Reset That Changed Everything

During that trip, while talking with the group leader on the cruise, something became clear to me. I wanted other women to feel what I felt. To experience what I experienced. To be transformed the way I was being transformed. I was letting all the stress of life go. And I know that might sound far-fetched, but when I came back, I wasn't the same. My nervous system had reset, and I was ready to take the next step toward my big goal and my big dream.
That trip is why I became a travel advisor. It's why I do what I do now. I plan trips for women who need to step away from the ordinary life into the abundant life that they know is deep within them. Whether it's a solo traveler who needs clarity, an entrepreneur searching for her next step, or a matriarch leading a multigenerational family trip, there's always something that needs to be released. Something that needs space to breathe.
Greece gave me that space. Athens lit my soul up. And now, I get to help other women find that same kind of reset. That same return to themselves. That's the gift Greece gave me, and it's one I carry into every trip I plan.
