I've always considered myself a Europe girl. Give me cobblestone streets, alpine vistas, and centuries-old cathedrals, and I'm in my element. So when the opportunity came to lead a group on the AMA Waterways Charms of the Mekong cruise through Vietnam and Cambodia, I knew I was stepping far outside my comfort zone. That's precisely why I had to go.

This trip was my chance to experience Southeast Asia firsthand, with pre-cruise time in Ho Chi Minh City and post-cruise days in Hanoi and Halong Bay.
